« Hey ! Ready for your check-up ? »

Yoongi lifts his head to blink at the figure in front of him. He pockets his phone and stands up when he recognizes Dr.Jung -Hobi- smiling down at him, dimples on display. The tip of his ears are curved by his face mask. Cute. He’s clad in his dentist blouse, a soft pastel green shirt with loose pants of the same shade, and abominations at his feet. Yoongi sneers at the neon green crocs. Why do all health workers have to wear these ? It’s literally contributing to the traumatizing aura of the place. Thank god the doctor’s personnality does all the work to brighten up the place.

« If by ready you mean ready to be judged on my brushing habits, then no »

The taller man chuckles as they make their way to his cabinet, opening the door for Yoongi and letting him get comfy on the chair in the middle before adjusting the angle. As the backrest lowers, he quietly observes the paler man’s face. New piercings have made their appearance in the tips of his ears, glinting in the artificial light of the cabinet. He enjoys the fact that the other has his eyes closed to stare a bit more as he gets his material ready, humming under his breath.

« Red Velvet, really ? »

Hoseok scoffs as he puts his mask on.

« Hey, let’s make a deal, I won’t judge you on your brushing habits if you don’t judge me on my musical taste. »

The corner of Yoongi’s lips lift a little.

« Deal. »

As the dentist gets to work, the patient tries not to stare too much. He’s gone to his cabinet for two years now, a check up every few months, and always looks forward to these appointments. A someone who likes to adorn his body with piercings and tattos, he’s always had a very strict hygiene, so these check-ups never bother him. He knows Hoseok won’t find anything. And if he gets to hear his dorky laugh and witness his little dances while he waits for his machines to boot up, well, that’s even more of a plus. It’s only normal that someone with a smile so radiant would become a dental surgeon. Spreading more sunshine smiles onto the world, one mouth at a time. He can just imagine the heart-shaped lips hidden behind that mask, the little mole delicately drawn onto the top left.

Too late he realizes he’s been staring for too long, because Hoseok’s eyes are scrunched up with delight as they meet his own. Thankfully, he doesn’t comment on it, choosing to focus instead on the other’s mouth. His hand brushes gently on the ring in Yoongi’s bottom lip.

« Oh sorry, did that hurt ? »

« Nah this is an old one. »

« Any new ones I should be careful about ? »

Yoongi gulps, then opens his mouth to reveal his latest stud. A shiny tongue piercing, towards the middle. That one had hurt like a bitch but it all becomes worth it when he sees the expression on his doctor’s face.

« Wow. »

Hoseok’s eyes widen, before he quickly turns away to pick up a tool. The tip of his ears are pink. Cute. This might be Yoongi’s favorite part about these appointments. Getting to see the doctor’s reaction to his new pieces of jewellry, as they get bolder and bolder. He had hesitated before doing that last one, but the thought of the other’s reaction was too much of a temptation. His lips tug into a small smug smile as Hoseok turns back to him.

« I’m gonna check for marks but it seems good as always. »

« Nice »

As he finishes the check-up, the shorter man thinks back to the tickets tucked into his backpocket. They’re for an upcoming rap show, one he wouldn’t participate in unless asked, for once, and he wanted to take that opportunity to bring Hoseok along with him. He’d heard him hum one of his songs a few months back, and hadn’t been able to hide his smile as the other checked his teeth. Now was his chance.

« Okay, all done ! These bad boys are clean as ever »

« Told ya, you won’t catch me with something »

Hoseok keeps his mask on as he leans away and begins to put his tools away.

« Too bad, that would give you an excuse to come more »

Their eyes meet and the mask shifts as Hoseok smiles. Yoongi stands up.

« Hoseok »

« I told you to call me Hobi »

« Hobi, would you like to go to a show ? »

His eyes crinkles. He takes his mask off to reveal his dimpled smile.

« Depends, which show ? »

A step closer.

« The rap performance in two weeks. »

His eyes widen.

« How did you get tickets to that ?? »

Yoongi takes a step closer, more confident talking about his field.

« I have my ways. »

« Do these ways involve you being a part of one of the crews performing ? »

Smiles bloom on their faces.

« Depends. Will you come if I say yes ? »

« I’ll come if you show me one verse of one of your songs. »

Yoongi offers his hand.

« Deal. »

They shake hands, a bit too soft and lingering for a proper handshake, but neither seem to mind.
